About

The Airyfairy Cake Company started life as AiryfairyCupcakes back in 2010, when Airyfairy Laura started baking cupcakes for family and friends from her home kitchen.

As the trend for cupcakes took off across the country, Airyfairy grew rapidly, catering for a massive range of clients from blue chip companies through to birthday parties, food festivals and markets.

Spotting a gap in the Manchester market, the Airyfairy Cake Boutique opened it's doors in March 2011, as well as selling cupcakes, the Boutique rapidly became a haven for all things cake with a homely feel and vintage theme.

Over 5 years the Boutique had catered for hundreds of baby showers, birthday parties and weddings. Not to mention the thousands of corporate cupcakes, birthday cakes and Afternoon Teas served up.

On average we've made 60,000 cupcakes per year, taught roughly 1,000 people and children per year to decorate cakes and served over 7500 Afternoon Teas. No mean feat for a little shop in Didsbury!

In addition our Boutique has featured on various BBC radio, CITV and BBC programmes, as well as the Manchester Evening News, South Manchester Reporter, Daily Mail, Take A Break, Pick Me Up magazines as well as our cakes being featured on the X Factor for Louis Walsh's birthday making a Wednesday Addams Cake for Superstar P!NK'S daughter whilst on her UK tour 2023 and catering regularly for Coronation Street and Media City.

We've also been major supporters of local charities, regularly donating cakes, vouchers and raising funds for Francis House Hospice, The Christie, St Ann's Hospice, Manchester Mind, Katie's Ball, Beaver Road Primary School plus many more.

In 2015 we rapidly grew the external catering side of the business, so much so that our kitchens quickly became too small for our needs and at the beginning of 2016 we took the option to move to larger purpose designed premises and focus solely on this area of the business, as well as taking the opportunity to rename and rebrand to the Airyfairy Cake Company, and so reflecting all of the various cake products we offer.

In September 2017 the business changed hands as Chief Baker Molly took over. Laura decided to hang up her apron to spend some well deserved time becoming a mother and moving on to other things. Airyfairy still continues as busy as ever with some great new ideas to come.

We look forward to continuing growth in the future whilst also continuing to cater for our lovely customers, some of who we have celebrated weddings and then christenings with, 18th and then 21st birthdays.

We continue to deliver across Manchester, Cheshire and the North West as well as providing cakes and corporate branded treats.
